Music for Dummies (and struggling noobies)

I'm putting up this link for those without any formal music education(I'm the classic example of this sort of chorister). Basic music notation and the such. It'll make life for Mr Tay a lot easier without having to go through all the basics, and save time on rehearsals. You do want to make each practice as productive as possible, right?

Music Theory

I recommend you all go through at least the "Lessons" until "Dots and Ties". Go through the remaining if you have free time. We may not have the luxury during practices to teach the basics to everyone. So pls do some homework.

For seniors, it's also a pretty good refresher course for those without a background in music.

PS. I'm caroling at Conrad Hotel on the 24th December at 7pm with the NUS choir alumni. Feel free to come and enjoy the Christmas music!
(edit: I'll be performing at the Grand Copthorne Hotel at 7pm instead. Reason is simple: Conrad Hotel wants us to sing without scores, but getting us ole folks to memorise 15 carols in just a week is a trifle too tough...)

Some quick updates...

Well, the Provisional Admissions Exercise results are out, and that means the appeals process has started!

If any of you have juniors who wish to appeal through the choir to join SAJC, pls inform me. Auditions soon!

Let's hope for lots of basses and tenors! Uh-huh, we need about 5-10 more guys!

On another note, if you notice the goings on in the chat-box, we're thinking of a dinner around X-mas time. Please contribute any ideas, and tell us if you're joining us!

And finally,
A Merry Christmas to everybody!
